Broadband port-selective silicon beam scanning device for free-space optical communication

چکیده

Indoor free space optical (FSO) communication technology that provides high-speed connectivity to edge users is expected be introduced in the near future mobile system, where silicon photonics solid-state beam scanning device a promising tool because of its low cost, long-term reliability, and other beneficial properties. However, current two-dimensional devices using grating coupler arrays have difficulty increasing transmission capacity bandwidth regulation. To solve problem, we broadband surface coupler, “elephant coupler,” which has great potential for combining wavelength spatial division multiplexing technologies into device, as an alternative couplers. The prototype port-selective fabricated 300 mm CMOS pilot line achieved emission with 1 dB-loss 40 nm demonstrated imaging lens. also exhibited free-space signal non-return-to-zero on-off-keying signals at 10 Gbps over wide range 60 nm. In this paper, present overview developed device. Furthermore, theoretical design guidelines indoor FSO are discussed.
